Vi er Miljøfyrtårnsertifisert
Vi er stolte over å kunngjere at Visit FjordKysten og Sunnfjord har oppnådd Miljøfyrtårnsertifisering, eit symbol på vår forplikting til berekraftig praksis og miljøvenleg turisme. Denne milepælen understrekar vår forplikting til å leie an i å fremje berekraftige praksisar i vår region.
Som ein del av denne prosessen har vi lagt til rette for felles miljøsertifiseringskurs for medlemmane våre, og i tillegg til Visit Fjordkysten og Sunnfjord er fire reiselivsaktørar i prosess for å bli Miljøfyrtårnsertifisert. I tillegg jobbar ein annan aktør med å oppnå Green Key-sertifisering.
Miljøfyrtårnsertifiseringa er berre eitt av fleire tiltak på handlingsplanen for prosjektet Merket for Berekraftig Reisemål. Merket for Berekraftig Reisemål er ei nasjonal merkeordning som er designa for å fremje og anerkjenne reisemål som jobbar strategisk og langsiktig for å utvikle seg på ein meir berekraftig måte. Merkeordninga spelar ei viktig rolle i å fremje berekraftig turisme i Noreg og skal sikre at reiselivsnæringa bidreg positivt til bevaring av kulturarv og naturressursar, trivsel i lokalsamfunnet, og lokal økonomisk utvikling.
Prosjektet vert gjennomført med støtte frå Innovasjon Norge, og alle kommunestyra i dei seks medlemskommunane, Askvoll, Fjaler, Hyllestad, Kinn, Solund og Sunnfjord, har vedteke å støtte seg til handlingsplanen for prosjektet gjennom eit prinsippvedtak.

We are proud to announce that Visit Fjordkysten and Sunnfjord have achieved Eco-Lighthouse certification, symbolizing our commitment to sustainable practices and environmentally friendly tourism. This milestone underscores our dedication to leading in promoting sustainable practices in our region. As part of this process, we have facilitated joint environmental certification courses for our members, and in addition to Visit Fjordkysten and Sunnfjord, four other tourism operators are in the process of obtaining Eco-Lighthouse certification. Additionally, another operator is working towards Green Key certification.
Eco-Lighthouse certification is one of several initiatives outlined in the action plan for the Sustainable Destination project. The Sustainable Destination certification is a national accreditation designed to promote and recognize destinations strategically and long-term working towards more sustainable development. The certification plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable tourism in Norway and aims to ensure that the tourism industry contributes positively to local economic development, preservation of natural resources, and community well-being.
The project is implemented with support from Innovation Norway, and all municipal councils in the six member municipalities – Askvoll, Fjaler, Hyllestad, Kinn, Solund, and Sunnfjord – have adopted principles to support the project’s action plan.
